Everytime i do a scan with AdAware 2007 (Personal edition), when the scan reaches the part where it starts scanning the registry, i get a BSOD saying that i had a registry error... RE: Registry Error by Chris4 on 05-24-2008 at 12:32 AM Hmm, could you check the logs? RE: Registry Error by Th3rmal on 05-24-2008 at 12:34 AM
quote:where i can find them? i have no idea btw, if it helps, the error does not come up when i restart, power up, power down or anything, only happens when i scan registry... RE: Registry Error by mattisdada on 05-24-2008 at 12:38 AM I reccommend NOT using AdAware . Use Webroot Spysweeper or Spyware Doctor . See if it does it with them. Try using CCleaner to find any registry issues and fix them RE: Registry Error by Th3rmal on 05-24-2008 at 12:42 AM

quote: I would recommend Ad-Aware. It's good. quote: In Ad-Aware 2007, if you go to Settings > Log Files it says the location of the log files. Make sure the option is ticked to create a log file, which is should be already. By default, they're stored here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007\logs Open up the .xml file (or the .log file, both the same) and if you go to the end it should show where it stopped and what it stopped on. RE: Registry Error by Th3rmal on 05-24-2008 at 12:52 AM Unfortunately, no scan logs were created today. The last log was created 2 days ago. RE: Registry Error by Chris4 on 05-24-2008 at 01:12 AM
Ad-Aware 2008 came out a couple days ago (just came across it when searching for help). That might fix the problem. RE: Registry Error by Th3rmal on 05-24-2008 at 01:17 AM
quote:I'll try upgrading. Thanks RE: Registry Error by mattisdada on 05-24-2008 at 04:00 AM Ad-Aware is horrrriaaabllleeee.. Cheap-skates, there is a thing called free downloads.... just a FYI. RE: Registry Error by Jarrod on 05-24-2008 at 07:06 AM my advice is use a PE disc and do a remore registry scan if you look through some torrents you can find some good build of bart with everything you need already on it |
