Burning photo CDs / photo DVDs? by Menthix on 05-24-2008 at 01:12 PM

My parents want to burn the photos from their digital camera on disc so they can watch it on tv with their dvd player. I just tried burning them on a DVD, but not surprisingly the cheap player doesn't understand just a bunch of images on a disc. It does support Kodak Photo CD format, but the software i normally use (ImgBurn) doesn't seem to have that.

I'm looking for (free) software to burn photos (.JPG) to a disc so the DVD player will recognize it. Either something capable of burning Kodak Photo CD format or something wrapping a DVD movie menu around the photos will do. No need for fancy options, just need to be able to view them on the TV without storing them on the memorycard forever.

I highly prefer free software, but shareware will do too if it does the job really well, just don't want to use anything as bloated as Nero.

Also, is Kodak Photo CD only for normal CDs or does it work on DVDs too? I prefer to burn on DVDs.

Thanks, using it now (y)

Too bad you can't burn new files on the same disc later in a dvd movie :(.

Are you running vista? Because if you are, just use the built in dvd maker...

if u get nero they let u do that as one of the options to make a dvd cd so u can do back and add new stuff but that can also run into probs cuz the disc will not be finalized cuz they say u should also do that but ya..
