My First Step by Spunky on 05-29-2008 at 10:50 PM

I'm just starting out to building my own PC (first time :p). I've found a case and I want to know if it's worth the money. I do like it and it seems good to me, but I want advice from people with experience in the area lol

CPU  Case

No idea about the pricing and size, but the blue plastic on the front looks a bit cheap.

Hate it. The main reason is it still uses 80mm fans. Noisy bastards. Atleast get a case that uses 120mm fans.

Cases that look like refrigerators are always the way to go!
You may want to look into liquid cooling, doesn't make noise. I think the case Dazzy posted has support for liquid cooling.

The newer revisions support water cooling. I can highly recommend that case (as it's what I use).

Hmmm... I don't really like the look or feel of the suggestions, but I have found this one on the website icd posted :p

And then there is Lian-Li and Silverstone to own all those cases lol.

NZXT cases are awesome imo.

I'd just go for a nice simple case that you won't regret buying. Obviously you can go for a nice case with translucent sides, but you don't need to have a tacky colour on the front; hence the reason I'd just go for a nice black and silver case or something.

As for the liquid cooling, it is obviously a great idea to invest in something that's quiet, but is it really worth spending all of that extra money that you can just get a few 120mm fans for instead, that do the same job but are just a little louder. Think about it, save money on buying a nicer case for cheaper (try overclockers/misco), leaving more disposable cash for better, more important hardware - like cpu or ram.

Edit:
The Soprano case that you posted is really nice, I was going to get one like it myself, but have a think about your budget and what you should really spend the most cash on (like I said above).

Cases from overclockers - there are some pretty nice cases on there for ~£80, like the Antec Sonata III Piano Black Quiet Case - EarthWatts 500W PSU, that's pretty hot.

Look at the Antec cases, they're nice.

Also, the Soprano case that you've got there, this one's nicer:
clicky.

much love, lol
