Whenever i try to sign in on windows live, with or without messenger plus downloaded, it just says 'signing in' endlessly. It isn't coming up with any error code, although occasionally it says 'cannot start a conversation with...(random contact)'. i restarted my computer(it's windows XP if that makes a difference) and re-installed windows live and messenger plus many times. The first time it worked, but then after a few days the same thing happened again and now re-installing it isn't making any difference. Can anyone help? I'm not too good with computers

It's probably another program that is causing you not to be able to login, most probably your firewall, anti-virus or security program. You need to open them up and allow Windows Live Messenger.

If you don't know how, try and find out the names of the programs. They icon for them should be in the bottom right of your screen.

Thanks. I worked out it was my AVG virus scanner, it updated and blocked messenger...grrrr. Anyway, thanks for the tip
