I used to have Messenger Plus and my Windows Live is 8.1 version. My problem is when I copy something off of somewhere (a lot of it) then try to paste it into a window with a friend, it wants to send it as data instead of just pasting it and cutting it off. I thought it was in relation to something else, but once I removed Messenger Plus I didn't have the problem. So I feel there's a bug in there.

The newest version of Messenger Plus! Live sends large amounts of copied text as a text file if it's going to be truncated. This means that if you do copy a lot of text (a chapter from a book for example), it does not get cut part way through so it can be sent in essentially one message

That's the whole problem.. I don't want it to send as a file.. I just want it to cut off and then if I need to recopy to get the rest I can do so.

In Messenger Plus! Live's Preferences, Click Conversations at the top, then formatting on the left. Then, uncheck the option "Improve pasting operations for large text and pictures"

That should turn it off completely.
