quote:and,...? RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta by RebelSean on 09-25-2008 at 03:35 PM To everyone that can't sign-in: Did you install the enitre suite or did you install messenger via the standalone installers that you can find throughout the internet? If you did, then you must install wlcomm.exe. RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta by guanako on 09-25-2008 at 07:40 PM all there is are, WLinstaller.exe, wlsetup-web.exe at least taht waht i found.. RE: RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta by Tardz on 09-25-2008 at 08:42 PM
quote: It's not the wlmcomm.exe (that doesn't even exist), it's wlc.msi that's required, but not only that, also the contact.msi. I also installed wllogin.msi, and now it works (well with one of my accounts atleast). It's not possible to install it through the windows live installer in windows server 2003 and windows xp 64bit, so i had to do it that way. RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta by RebelSean on 09-25-2008 at 09:41 PM
quote: Er, wlcomm.exe does exist and is installed when you run wlc.msi . RE: RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta by Tardz on 09-25-2008 at 09:54 PM
quote: ehm, well i extracted all the files from the wlinstaller, didn't know it was in the msi. (so how can you even manually install that file?) These are all the files that are in the wlinstaller exe. RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta by RebelSean on 09-25-2008 at 09:58 PM Indeed those are all the files, but wlcomm.exe is installed in C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Contacts. If you take a look in that directory, the file is installed when you run the .msi installer. Without the actuall wlcomm.exe you cannot sign-in because that's the communication tool that grabs your contacts from the server . quote: In Add/Remove programs it is called "Windows Live Beta (All programs)" Then when you click on it you have to select "Install/Uninstall" and then uncheck Messenger then click continue RE: Cannot sign into the new public beta by joexoxox on 10-04-2008 at 11:42 PM
