Hi all

me and my friend downloaded the new MSG Plus

i installed it and it worked fine

but for him

nothing worked

he got his own windows in E

i told him to check for that msimg32.dll

he told me he found it

this is a picture from his own windows



he doesn't have any plus picture

i did some search but nothin seems to work

and sorry for my English if there was any mistakes

Try to get him to remove the skin by using the following parameter

Add this at the end of the "target path" when you right-click -> properties. (don't forget the space).

After they load it, i recommend removing that or else they will keep removing any skins they add.

Hopefully with the default skin they will be able to see the two buttons.  Please let us know how it goes.

Thats because skins have to be made for Messenger 9 specifically and since nobody has done that yet that is why they don't work. It's up to the skin maker not Messenger Plus! itself.

But I'm just wondering if they installed the wrong version by accident.

The link in the thread goes to the main download page and the big 'DOWNLOAD' button does not link to the latest version of plus, the small "here" link does.

Ensure that they ues this link:

I have the same problem.
MSN 14.0.5027.908
no skins installed. smiley central/sweet IM not installed.

EDIT: i found out the reason.

which only had the download link for 4.70 and not 4.79

Are you sure there is no link for 4.79?

So, i think there is a link for download both versions just check it twice and you will found it ^^

And about the original problem, when your friend goes to control panel ... does he find msg plus in the list?

If he does, maybe he need to try by removing and installing again both programs.

Msn 9 from the oficial website: http://download.live.com/messenger and then plus, you already know the link.

yes i know i just saw that lol.
the download button is so big, that i didn't even realise there was another link to the updated plus version.

Ok let's summarize so people do not get confused.

Messenger 9 Beta and Messenger 9 RC are NOT the same thing.

If you have downloaded Messenger 9 after December 15 2009 then it means you are running Messenger 9 RC and Messenger Plus will not work 100%. There is nothing you can do to fix this so you will have to wait until a new update is released.

For those who have downloaded 9 before December 15 then it means you are running Messenger 9 Beta which means you can run the version for Messenger 9 that is supplied on this site.

I will repeat once more for those who did not get it:

Messenger Plus! Live does not work 100% on the RC build! If you can't live without plus then go back to Messenger 8.5 or find a version of the pre-december 15 version of Messenger.

Messenger Plus! Live is not yet compatible with the latest build of Windows Live

Messenger 14 (sometimes named version 2009 or 9).
