Subject says it all. It doesn't actually remove the window from the task bar nor' does it remove it from the list of opened conversation windows when grouped.
Doesn't let me select the 'closed conversation window' after it's 'closed' either, even though it still appears.
Any suggestions?

Do you have Messenger Discovery Live installed?

Its a Messenger Discovery bug, for some reason it screws up the chat tabs in Messenger Plus. If you want them to work again you have to uninstall it.

Yep, I confirm. I was using Discovery too and I had to uninstall it to close tabs again.
