i have done a lot of scan using avg, spybot search and destroy, microsoft safety care and trendmicro and it picks messenger plus for windows live messenger Version 2009 Build 14.0.5027.908 on windows XP service pack 3 as a virus and adware this is what it says for description of problem: RE: messenger plus for wlm 9.0 being detected as virus and adware? by Mnjul on 11-10-2008 at 10:53 AM

As for the registry keys, they're associating Plus! with encrypted log files and sound packs (and probably script packs) so that those files, when you open them, can be opened/handled/processed by Plus! .
