WLMBeta: Locking Bug by Kadz94 on 11-26-2008 at 06:33 PM

Im using Windows Live Messenger Beta with the latest (and only) release of MsgLive Plus! for it. The problem is that when i come to lock messenger it wont lock? i activate it in the preferences options as CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + L to lock, and CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + U to unlock. Its worked once and once only. any ideas? thanks

Try CTRL+ALT+L to lock. IIRC from doing my own hotkeys, CTRL+ALT+SHIFT is actually WINKEY. As WINKEY+L is Windows own locking shortcut, it probably wouldn't work... Also, try a few different combinations (such as CTRL+1 or something similar)

it stopped working in the 8.5 aswell..?
am i missing a registry file or something?

No it isn't, it's Ctrl+Alt+Shift. Ctrl+Esc is (sort of) Winkey.

CTRL+ESC is reserved for Task Manager :s

no, that's ctrl+shift+esc. ctrl+esc opens the start menu.

Guys, iv been having the locking problem too.
Seemed to work on Vista fine, but i downloaded Windows 8, and havn't been having much luck tbh.

I new the flashing problem, and havnt tried it to see if it works on 8 yet, but ill try that later.

I can't lock it, and it doesnt seem to save my chat logs, either.
Ohh, and colours arn't being displayed.

I think WLMBeta + Plus + Windows 8 don't play nice..

Adam.

Windows 8?
Oh, and Plus! isn't fully compatible with the latest build of WLM, so don't expect colors, chat logs and others from it =)
Read it here
If you entered this forum using http://shoutbox.menthix.net, you should have seen that nicey yellow box on the top saying:

Messenger Plus! Live is not yet compatible with the latest build of Windows Live Messenger 14 (sometimes named version 2009 or 9).

For more information on this, see Important news regarding Windows Live Messenger and Messenger Plus! Live.
