help with sound... by NanoChromatic on 11-29-2008 at 02:12 PM
Ok, About 15 Minutes ago I was listening to music And then all of a sudden my sound just went! I have tried everything I can think of...
Help please.
Thanks

What exactly have you tried?
Have you restarted the computer?
Have you unplugged your speakers and plugged them back in?
Have you tried plugging in headphones?
Have you check that the sound hasn't been muted?
Have you checked that the program you're using hasn't had the sound muted?
Have you check that your sound card is still selected as the output source for sound?
Have you installed the latest drivers for your sound card?

Also, what is your OS? Is it built in speakers or external ones?

Built in speakers? That's quite unusual these days!
Do you have any speakers that you can plug into the on-board sockets to test?

Oops, hadn't thought of that
Either way, the same applies there'll definitely be sockets he can plug external speakers into.
If that doesn't work then try system restore, but if not then it sounds like the onboard sound has gone
