Private Folder by Eddie on 12-28-2008 at 07:35 AM

Hello all,

I have installed a new copy of Windows onto my computer, but the documents for my account on the old copy are "private", is there anyway to undo this...the version of the old copy is Windows XP SP3 Home.

Mike pointed you to the right solution.  Make sure you are doing it correctly and the procedure is successful, and it should work.

It is highly unlikely that EFS is a part of your problem, given that it is availabe in XP Professional only and you indicate you had XP Home.

ok my bad, i use pro at home and that was my problem/solution

edit:[for the solution mike provided you need to use THE administrator account not any administrator account, as far as i can tell, so you will need to boot up into safe mode]
