Looking for an ALL-IN-ONE printer by Quantum on 12-30-2008 at 07:05 PM

I'm going to off to buy a printer. I've seen a few so far but i would like to ask for you guys to help (some of you know what your talking about)

I live in the UK and would like to spend under £100 :P

This one i've seen so far that's ok: Epson SX400

Here's what it must have:

Print, Scan & Copy.
Wifi for wireless printing *not required but would be very handy*
Border less printing would be good.
CHEAP Ink.
Not too big.

Optional:

Card-Reader
LCD Screen
+ More good things that will be useful :P

Can anyone suggest some..

Been on there. There's none in the sale and there prices are like £30-£50 more than amazon and ebuyer.

I wouldn't go for PC World, they're an absolute rip off. It wouldn't surprise me if they're next in line to go into administration...

Make sure you try some places like Tesco and Comet, they do some excellent deals on All-In-Ones. Also, go for Hewlett Packard for printing hardware, it's your best bet (unless you want photo quality obviously, in which case Canon is your best bet).

edit:
mite not be wireless, lexmark's website claims it is but no other stores seem to have this in the specs

QFT.

I have a C5280 - it was £40 from Tesco. It does all you want, except the wireless parts. But then that's just a gimmick really. :)

Remember the cheap ones are more expensive in the long run. Make sure it is efficient on ink, otherwise you will end up paying a lot more than you originally anticipated.

...yes... You want a 3-in-1
RE: Looking for an ALL-IN-ONE printer by Quantum on 01-03-2009 at 10:43 PM

I want to print, scan and copy. Not all 3 in ones can fax...

Exactly, because 3-in-1s don't have fax. ONLY ALL-IN-ONES do! ¬_¬

All-in-one can be and usually is perceived as print, copy and scan as well or as a pose to print, copy, scan and fax :P

Yeah the ink isn't that great, although the cartridges tend to last a lot long than other printers I've had (yes, yes I am talking about you Lexmark X1150).

When I bought it, yeah, $50US was a lot cheaper than £40. These days, not so much - only $7 I believe.
RE: Looking for an ALL-IN-ONE printer by rav0 on 01-05-2009 at 12:00 PM

Whatever you get, remember, buy cheapy ink from the markets always. So, before you get a printer, check that cheapy ink is available. Individual ink tanks may also save you some money.

I've never owned an all-in-one, but Canon printers are top notch, HP is decent also. Canon scanners are pretty good also. The one HP scanner i've used was terribly slow and annoying, but also old, and had good picture quality at least.
