Are you sure you downloaded messenger Plus! 4.79.0.353?

I am having massive problems installing on a brand new computer. No Smiley or Sweet. Have pulled both the WLM and Plus programs directly from the links on the Plus site. Have installed and uninstalled, reinstalled in safe mode with no antivirus running. Just now, I was able to use the link you provided for the "b" version and was able to get the Plus icon in WLM, but no functionality - no sound or icon menu.
I've read through every thread and, to the best of my meager ability, tried everything I can. Any ideas for me?

open a conversation window, and send the message (!VER) and (!SVER). Then tell us what appeared pls =)

(It should be working... No skins... no scripts... up-to-date messenger and plus! o.O)
Are you sure it isn't working? Can you open Plus! preferences panel, for example?

The chat function works, but there is no tool bar to allow me to send emoticons or sounds without having to click through from the Menu-Plus-Send Command - and then there is only the option to use the prefab sounds - the whole custom sound thing is gone.
There is just no toolbar above my text box anymore.
If this helps, I had tried installing the version of Plus on the PLus site, and that did absolutely nothing - would say it was installed, but I wasn't even getting the Plus icon up top. The version you had a link to, the "b" version, is at least giving me an icon.
Sorry - preferences panel is there. I can go through and send the built-in sounds or emoticons with by going through the tabs, but taht is not a quick process...

the "b" version is the newest version, wlm 14.0.8050.1202 compatible. =) the big download icon leads to the 4.70, not to 4.70.0.353.

No, I have no icons at all on the bottom. It is my photo, the photo of person I am writing to, and the text boxes.

WOW! I think I found it - with a message window open, TOOLS, SHOW TOOLBARS, FORMATTING TOOLBAR. I never would have guessed that was a formatting toolbar!
Looks like it is all there now. maybe this can help someone else, too?
