Maybe because of your language...
It is kind of inversed, so positioning gets inversed too.

Go to the options panel and choose 'left' instead of 'right' for display picture location under conversation window

I mean, Arabic is one of the languages that are written right-to-left, so programs just inverse things so that it makes sense: Start button at the right-hand side, Clock at the left-hand side, MinMaxClose in the left-hand size, and even deafault left-hand sided DPs go to the Right-hand side.
