Start and "identified" Messenger by francoisch on 07-04-2009 at 09:31 AM
Hello
Several persons are using a single shared PC, one at a time needless to say.
In this PC, WLM+ is installed.
In WLM+, each user has his / her contact identity specified.
My question: can I batch start WLM+ with a parameter specifying one of this person’s identity?
As an example: "C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe" "toto@free.fr"
With such a function, I would be able to start a Messenger for one among several users of this old persons community accessed PC.
Thank you in advance for your help.

if you all use different accounts on the computer as in your windows logon, it will keep your ids available to just sign in automatically for each person... i hope that makes sense to you..

The solution in thread http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=83...d=909336#pid909336 doesn't work at all anymore?

hello Foaly
No, this solution does not work anymore, for long, for some unknown reason to me; I would love that it would work.
My current request though stays behind the previous one: I am not asking anthing about the password like before.
I would just like that, when Msg is batch opened, its interface would display the specified identity, as opposed to displaying the first one in the list.
So that the person could key in his / her password without browsing among 8-10 identities with the risk of an error.
Thank you.
Francois

hello
I just discovered that a piece of SW named Skype has exactly what I am looking for in Messenger: the parms to specify id / pwd at start, working in batch needless to say.
I am not saying that I will switch to it but just that I would love to find the equivalent function in WLM+.
Dream?
