Wanting a packet loss detection script by ZrednaZ on 08-27-2009 at 08:50 PM

I'm having issues with instant messages not beling delivered and not being received. You never know when it has occured as Messenger does not detect it (if it does, it certainly isn't bothering with notifying anyone). It happens every now and again, and it is getting to be an annoyance.

Therefore, I'd like a script to help detect when packet loss has occured. To keep things simple, all I want it to do is add a number before each message I send. This number will increment by one for each sent message. This way, if a number is skipped, my contact will know that a message from me has been lost. My contact would ideally be running the script too.

I know java, but I'm not very familiar with JScript. So, although I've read Patchou's script making introduction, I'm now sure how to pull this one off. Could someone fix me the script or give me some ideas on how to do it myself? :)

If you canget Xniff running on your current config, you could just check the TrID messenger send at the startof nearly all it's protocol messages. If the number isn't sequential, there is probably a drop in connection
