Abusive email about Status Checker by Tuddley3 on 09-11-2009 at 07:21 AM
I don't think I'm in the right forum, but I tried abuse@passport.com, but the postmaster sent me a failed attempt. Maybe someone can get me a working MSN Support email to report something like this. It took me over an hour to find this forum, and there is no "Contact Us" anywhere for MSN (It's like top secret or something ),
Anyhow, this is what I sent them (forwarded copy). I have censored the email addresses below.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think this is legit. If you click on "Click Here", it takes you to a page that asks you for your email address and password. After you click submit, it takes about 1 minute to take you to another page with a list of contacts the have Blocked You In MSN Messenger. There is also some SPAM about downloading some Smiley program. Meanwhile, everyone in your contacts list gets the same email as below in the forwarded copy.
Notice it says it's from censored@hotmail.com , but at the bottom it says "Thanks, The Status Checker Team. Status Checker, is this real. It says its not spam at the bottom, but I don't believe it.
I sent a warning email to all my contacts telling them to delete any email that looks like this.
Thank you

Here is the link to the email (be careful, don't type in your login info)
So much for hiding the email addresses above.

This is the official forum for Messenger Plus! Live, not for Windows Live Messenger
Try a quick google search for terms like "WLM support" and "Hotmail Support". The link below may be your best bet.
https://support.msn.com/contactus.aspx?mkt=en-gb&scrx=1
However, the best advice I can give you is to change your Hotmail password and to advise any of your friends who have entered their details into that site to do the same
