I recently started having troubles with my Windows Live Messenger. The thing is i can sign in on older versions of Windows Messenger, but not the latest version. Since this has happened i can't sign onto my Games for Windows Live account. I get the error code 80048103. I couldn't find any other thread that had this error. Please help...

Is there anything that you have installed recently? Have you tried anything like clearing out your contact list or something like that, apparently the weirdest things can make Windows Live Messenger go wrong. And funnily enough, well, not really but, you know need to upgrade to log in to the WLM Service.

another note might be router settings or something of the sorts, might be blocking needed ports. Another question, has this problem come up just now or has it been happening for a while?
