I was talking to my girlfriend and for some reason she wasn't getting my messages i didn't get an error or anything saying that the message wasn't delivered...so i'm not sure what to think...how can I be sure that the messages are delivered I don't want to get a yahoo account but if it's better than I will.

Normally, when you do not get a warning message that "the message could not be delivered", the message should have been delivered, with the emphasis on 'should'....
So, unfortunatly you can't be sure 110% as there is no way to verify it in any way.
PS: I gather that she is using Yahoo?

no she has a hotmail account so not sure if she uses yahoo or not...I would get her to create a yahoo id if needed
