utorrent speeds on my vista by jackieboi99 on 12-07-2009 at 11:04 AM

i'v forwarded a port in the correct range, im using peer guardian II and i'v seen my computer reach speeds excess of 500kbps (or kB, not sure)
i think my internet company is capping my dl speed but what can i do?

Have you actually done the uTorrent port forwarding test?
Also, if the ISP is capping p2p traffic, there is an option to encrypt data, which should hopefully speed it up (IIRC)

Thanks for giving us almost no information to work with.
Cap your upload at about 80% of your maximum upload capacity, and try enabling encryption.

Is BitTorrent traffic on a well-known BitTorrent port (6883) throttled?
* The BitTorrent upload (seeding) worked. Our tool was successful in uploading data using the BitTorrent protocol.
* There's no indication that your ISP rate limits your BitTorrent uploads. In our tests a TCP upload achieved at least 182 Kbps while a BitTorrent upload achieved at most 199 Kbps. You can find details here.
