Offline messages are emailed to me?! by kagome2307 on 01-23-2010 at 10:45 PM

A day or two ago, an update window popped up and I just clicked update without really reading it and after that I've been experiencing this weird thing: When I talk with my friends, it's fine, but if I log out and they still reply to me, their message is emailed to me instead of popping up the next time I log in. This is annoying because it emails every line, so I get spammed if they decide to talk to me when I'm offline. How do I change this setting or fix this problem? It just started happening.
I have messenger plus version 4.83.0.376
and windows liver version 2009 (build 14.0.8089.726) and I"m using Windows XP, I dunno if this info helps, but please tell me how to change my setting, it's really annoying me :(

Hi. I've also experienced offline messages randomly being sent via email, but it soon went away.

Here's the only answer I can find:

Hotmail inbox of the person receiving them as the offline message store is actually the same
place Hotmail mail is stored.  It's not your fault nor is anything malicious going on.

So unfortunately it appears there's nothing you can do.
