Content Management System questiong by M73A on 01-29-2010 at 07:48 PM

Hi!

So basically, I need the use of a CMS, to allow people to edit and add content to a website, but I don't want the whole website to be a cms...

So, can anyone suggest what would be the best (free) CMS to use, to integrate into a website so I can maybe let other users add news or events on a small part of the website.

Alternatively would it really be better to use something like Joomla! and have the whole website use a cms?

Thanks!

(p.s. massive cms newb)

Joomla! or CMS made simple is pretty easy to do if your a newb :P (and it meets what you want)

Joomla pisses me off, I'm not sure about anyone else.

WordPress (with plugins) or CutePHP seems better for what you say you need :p

If you want something to add into an existing site, and all you want to add are news items, look at http://www.fusionnews.net/

Try Drupal. Its an Open Source CMS which is Simple and Easy to Manage!

There's always CuteNews, which I've used in the past and is usually very easy to integrate. It uses flat files though as opposed to a database (iirc).

haha sorry. Think i've decided against the idea of CMS for now... what I would ideally like would need to create pages, store images and stuff.

to much hastle really!

Very simple to fit your design. :)
