WLM Windows Messenger Error Code 80040154 by ElBuho on 02-16-2010 at 09:14 PM

I finally found a forum that might be able to help! I reinstalled Windows 7 yesterday after numerous error messages in my computer. Most of my computer is running well now, except I still cannot sign in to MSN Live Messenger.
I have tried to uninstall windows live many times but have been unsuccessful.

Do you guys know of a work around to fix this issue?
Desperatelly yours,:(:|:S

If you are receiving the error 80040111 or 80040154 when you sign into Messenger, please try the following:

Reregister msxml3.dll. To do so follow the steps below that are applicable to your operating system version:

Windows Vista/Windows 7:

Click "Start," click "All Programs," click "Accessories," and then right-click "Command Prompt."

Click "Run as administrator."

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password or click "Continue."

Type the following command, and then press ENTER:
   REGSVR32 %windir%\system32\msxml3.dll

If the file can be located and is available, you receive the following message:
DllRegisterServer succeeded in C:\Windows\System32\msxml3.dll is succeeded.

If this step is not successful, go to step 2.
If this step succeeds, go to step 3.

Ok thanks! I'll give it a try...(H)

I hate to ask but which of the three files should I download and how do I install it?
Thanks again!:)

I did everything that was suggested... and then some...
I found these things out:
Internet Options>Connections> Choose Settings if you need to configure a proxy server for a conection is greyed out (unable to enter new info)

then when setting internet connection in same tab..."Connect to the internet" Connection failed with error 651

this is driving me nuts!:@^o)
