When signed in to more than one place (eg. home and work).
When windows are being created at the remote location, plus does not pick up the open window event and tab them.
If you talk to 10 people, you will have 10 open windows in the remote location.

Do you have Messenger Plus! Live installed at both locations and tabbed chatting enabled at both? I use this feature and it works perfectly as it should

Yes plus is installed on both.
Now i think about it, the other difference is i'm using polygamy too.
At home i'm signed into home-msn and work-msn.
At work i'm mutli signed into work-msn.
While at work any new chat windows group fine at the work location, but not at the home location on my work-msn account.
Where-as chat's i get at home while i'm gone all group up correctly.
Does that make sense?

Poligamy shouldn't matter either.
Is tabbed chatting enabled at all locations?

Yes, both have plus installed and tabbed chatting enabled.
