Some has used my account to send dodgy emails to all my contacts. quote: Problem is I have no idea how this happened. I've changed my password now but I'm quite sure I didn't fall for any phishing scams.. Only thing I can think of is I was adding a couple applications on Facebook. Eddie said he had a similar problem and he thought it originated from Facebook. I can't see how they can get access to my email just by adding an application though? RE: Hotmail sending dodgy emails by Chrissy on 05-06-2010 at 03:44 PM Have you contacted hotmail about it? RE: Hotmail sending dodgy emails by Chris4 on 05-06-2010 at 03:46 PM I haven't. RE: Hotmail sending dodgy emails by Chrissy on 05-06-2010 at 03:48 PM You should RE: Hotmail sending dodgy emails by djdannyp on 05-06-2010 at 05:34 PM I had one like this a few months ago, dunno how it happened (again I only found out because of the failed delivery), but I just changed my password and it never happened again....and I definitely hadn't done anything....probably just something randomly using any e-mail addresses it can to send the message and as the return address......it's easy enough to spoof a "sent from" field RE: Hotmail sending dodgy emails by CookieRevised on 05-06-2010 at 05:39 PM
quote:I'm not in any person's facebook, yet I've recieved such an email from you. So te only way they could've got my email address is by getting into your address book (or you publishing the emails, but you didn't do that I hope )... So, without having your password I don't see how someone could be mailing in your name on your account (since you have sent messages in your trashbin o.O) to your address book. Meaning they either guessed the password or there must have been some phishing website involved here though (or keylogger or whatever)... and there I was thinking you wanted to share some cool exciting deal with us ... pfffff... Ha, sorry about that. It's rather embarrassing RE: Hotmail sending dodgy emails by user35870 on 05-07-2010 at 01:28 PM
Also change your secret question. RE: Hotmail sending dodgy emails by albert on 05-08-2010 at 01:32 AM I got it too, weirdly enough the e-mail's destination shows as : "d-350[at]hotmail.co.jp"... btw gmail detected it as spam automatically so.. quote:That's a contact of mine. It added 1 contact in the To: and about 10 in the Bcc:, then repeated lots of times. quote:Done. quote:Ah good. RE: Hotmail sending dodgy emails by toddy on 05-08-2010 at 12:01 PM
