I had this kind of symptom for a while:
If I did a warm boot (restarting a computer), my computer would restart fine
If I powered on my computer after being shut down for a while, my computer would refuse to start.
No BIOS screen/option at all, no hard drive's light blinking. Just a blank screen.

So to get around it, I would have to wait for a few minutes and then press the reset button on my PC.
BUT... if I simply did "sleep" my PC, my computer would start fine although I had left it shut down for days.

Now, this is worse.
I have been noticing that my waiting time was longer whenever I powered on my computer after shutting it down.
And finally, last night and this morning, my PC refused to start although I've let it run for 2 hours.

Any idea what the problem could be?
I've had the computer for 2 years and it always ran fine (my usual practice was shutting down my PC).
Suddenly I had the first symptom described above about 6 months ago.

Sounds like some kind of a motherboard problem, although I also wouldn't rule out the power supply just yet. 

Unfortunately, the best advice I can give you is to try swapping out the power supply if you can borrow one from another machine of your own (or even friend's).  I'd start there because a power supply swap is much easier, even though what you describe sounds more like a bad motherboard.

If the power supply doesn't change anything, your choices will depend on whether this is a custom designed major OEM computer (Dell, HP and similar) or one built from standard components. 

In major OEM designs, the motherboard is usually hard to replace with anything generic, but there tends to be a good supply of replacement parts.  You would want to weigh the cost of that against basically replacing the computer.

If it's a computer built out of generic components and it is two years old, your best option usually would be a motherboard/CPU/RAM upgrade.  At only two years and depending what you choose to upgrade to, it's possible that even the RAM could be reused.

Glad to see you're still around.
I also just found out that the CPU (processor) fan does not spin.
It wobbles a bit and that's it.
I should have opened the case when this happened for the first time.

And now my another question is, how do I know if my processor has/hasn't been fried?
It still looks like new though.

Well, I moved the power source of the fan to SYS FAN instead of CPU FAN.
The fan spins now.
I guess you're right about the bad motherboard.

It's confirmed then: My mobo is busted.
I borrowed my friend's brand new PSU and I still have the same problem.

In my oppion it's either the systemboard, the powersupply, ram or hard drive
