IPGet v1.51

----------------------------------------------------------------
          What is IPGet?
----------------------------------------------------------------

IPGet is a script for Msg Plus! Live
(http://www.msgpluslive.net). IPGet allows you to
find out the ip addresses of your Windows Live
Messenger contacts. Whenever a direct connection,
such as a File Transfer or MSN Games, is launched,
IPGet will alert you with the remote IP address and
the email of the person it belongs to. IPGet can also
pinpoint the location of this IP address telling you
its city, state, and country of origin.

Additionally, you can check all the IP connections
in use by Windows Live Messenger in the "IPGet -
IP Connections" Window.

----------------------------------------------------------------
          How to use IPGet
----------------------------------------------------------------
To obtain an IP Address of a contact, just
establish a direct connection such as a File
Transfer or a MSN Game. Click on the popup to
obtain the location of the detected IP address.

Already established IP connection can be
displayed in the "IPGet - IP Connections"
window. Here IP Connections can be filtered
and stored for easier sorting.

----------------------------------------------------------------
          Commands for IPGet
----------------------------------------------------------------

/ipget

Display the IP Connections window

/iplocate <ID or IP address>

Locate the origin of given IP address

/iplog

Display past events related to IPGet,
useful for viewing missed popups

/ipconfig

Display the settings window

/ipabout

Display the about window

/iphelp

Display the readme file

/ipupdate

Checks for newer versions of IPGet

/ipshare

Share IPGet with your contacts

----------------------------------------------------------------
    Change Log
----------------------------------------------------------------

------ 1.51  ----------------------------------------------------

- Switched IP Melissa Data as primary button
- Updated raw html expression to work with current page
- Added WinPcap 4.1.2 for latest OS compatibility

----------------------------------------------------------------

MediaFire seems to be doing something dodgy with the download. It seems to download a js file (opened it in Notepad).

Try attaching it to your post or submitting it to the scripting database

What is the problem, not working?

RE: IPGet v1.51 by whiz on 07-21-2011 at 07:18 AM

What exactly isn't working?  Please be more specific.  Are are you having trouble installing it?  Is it installed but not in the command list?  Is a specific feature not working?

RE: IPGet v1.51 by brettpitt_ on 08-15-2011 at 12:15 PM

using windows 7. the script is "stopped". it says that i don't have enough rights on the pc. but i have admin rights. any solution???

RE: IPGet v1.51 by matty on 08-15-2011 at 12:45 PM

matty's reply to Directory Cannot be Created.

Note the script doesn't work properly under Windows 7 if I remember correctly (I could be hugely mistaken though).

thanks. i will try it this evening on another pc with windows xp. let's see if it will work there..
RE: IPGet v1.51 by matty on 08-15-2011 at 05:49 PM

I just realized that likely isn't the issue. Go to your Plus! Preferences > Scripts > Enable script debugging. Locate IP Get in the drop down and see if there are any errors when attempting to start the script.

on xp same problem.
i started today msn on windows 7. debugging was on. the only installed script is ipget. i got the following error message (in german):

Skript wird gestartet
Fehler: 'strSoundDirectory' ist undefiniert (Code: -2146823279)
       Datei: IPGet_main2.js. Zeile: 13.
Skriptstart fehlgeschlagen

Fehler= Error, undefiniert=undefined, zeile=line, datei=file
RE: IPGet v1.51 by foaly on 08-18-2011 at 12:40 PM

strange works fine here (atleast it's not throwing errors)
you could try opening
IPGet_main2.js
and insert:var strSoundDirectory = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").GetAbsolutepathname(MsgPlus.ScriptFilesPath + "\\..\\..\\Scripts_Sounds");
on line 12, but it'll probably will give you other errors...

RE: IPGet v1.51 by matty on 08-26-2011 at 12:16 PM

I don't know why the developer is having so many issues with the script now however to solve the problem (I hope you understand this in English) do the following:

Open the Messenger Plus! Preferences > Click Scripts > Highlight IPGet and click Edit > Select IPGet_menu.js from the Drop Down Insert the following line at the beginning of the code:

js code:
var fileInterface = MsgPlus.ScriptFilesPath+'\\IPGet_interface.xml';

Cheers

To receive those errors after the change makes no sense. Restart Windows Live Messenger and see if you still get the error.

RE: IPGet v1.51 by matty on 08-26-2011 at 05:20 PM

This script appears to have a lot of problems. It would take a lot to try and fix it. The developer should rewrite it. I may consider doing it but we will see. I definitely do not have the time to do so nor is that fair to the developer.

RE: IPGet v1.51 by Aldione on 08-26-2011 at 07:01 PM

:/ ok, then dont worry :( i want this scripts, but if u dont have time... :'(

RE: IPGet v1.51 by Aldione on 11-02-2011 at 04:09 AM

who can fix this scripts?

Very Thanks

RE: IPGet v1.51 by pers on 11-11-2011 at 12:26 AM

Okay, I'm only just learning to program, and that is in Java, so how much I can do is VERY limited by that I'm a rookie and this is scripted in a similar, but still a different language.

BUT, I took a quick peek, I noticed that the first errors in the script-log were unitiated variables.......all of them
I just created some dummy-variables with the name of the missing ones but no values, and this just took me to more unitiated variables :S

So now I check the code from the IPget 1.50, and search for these variables, and I discover that they're all found in the class IPGet_main.js
Which btw, is completely missing from 1.51, no wonder people are having trouble.

I copied the IPGet_main.js from the 1.50 folder over to the 1.51 folder, and voila, no errors, I still haven't tested if the IP-tracing works, but I should think it's an improvement, at least a suggestion to other, where things are going wrong.

RE: IPGet v1.51 by matty on 11-11-2011 at 12:54 AM

I was going to see if after rebuilding a computer tonight I would have some time to take a look at it... Time will tell.

RE: IPGet v1.51 by pers on 11-11-2011 at 01:54 AM

If you have the time that would be great Matty.

I have done some testing, which means I've played around with the settings and possibly everything I could press and do to see if I got error messages after implementing the IPGet_main class from the 1.50 into the 1.51.

And the final verdict iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis....

No error messages, but I do not find the IP I'm supposed to get, I'm supposed to recieve a pop-up with the IP? Well I don't
I think it could be because of two things:

- Something is wrong on my end, don't know what.
- The 1.50 version of IPGet_main class doesn't work with the 1.51 version and needs a rewrite, however, it might be the only class that does so.

I could be wrong, as I've allready said, I'm new to this, and I'm mainly playing around for practice, I even got a volunteer to test with.

RE: IPGet v1.51 by matty on 11-11-2011 at 03:19 AM

Rebuild has taken longer than I thought...

RE: IPGet v1.51 by Aldione on 11-11-2011 at 07:36 AM

ok, very thanks for help :P

RE: IPGet v1.51 by pers on 11-12-2011 at 03:11 AM

Okay so I'll update what's happened in the last 24 hours or soin case it helps.
Tried following:
- Send pictures, no good.
- Cam, no good.
- MSN Games, no good.

Then something strange happened, I checked the log and saw that some hour earlier I've located an IP.
9:26 PM - IP Address detected - random.83@hotmail.com;{a466c714-b843-48b8-8844-7efbc76db6f0} : 10.0.0.30

I have no idea what this means however, whatever is happening there is probably not correct.

It's too bad I didn't get the pop-up so I could have noticed it when it happened, I don't remeber what I was doing at the time.
I think I was changing my display picture and then I rebooted Windows to install some updates.

I just noticed that, try and download it now from frontpage
and let me know if it's working.
RE: IPGet v1.51 by pers on 11-16-2011 at 03:18 AM

It works with no error messages now, I haven't had the opportunity to test if it gets IPs, so far I only know that picures gave me no IP.

I'm using Windows 7 and Live Messenger 2011

RE: IPGet v1.51 by Chic01taliano on 11-16-2011 at 04:52 PM

i strongly recommend to uninstall the script along with winpcap, restart the machine and install anew

RE: IPGet v1.51 by riahc4 on 12-16-2011 at 09:58 PM

Finally this script gets updated :) Thanks....

Lets see if it works.

Confirmed as working.

As a side note, the WinPcap only works on Windows NT family OS.

Also, hit /ipconfig and make sure your interface is correct. Should autodetect but just in case.
