I just installed Win 7 and transferred the log files/directories from my XP life to "c:\users\<MyName>\my documents\my chat logs"
I also imported the Messenger Plus settings that I saved earlier in XP. In Messenger plus I then changed the path for the log files to the path mentioned above. So far so good.
However, when I try to see the history of an old account (Right click the account, Messenger Plus! Features, Open Chat Log...) it says "There is no log file for this contact or it can't be found".

I had 2 new chats since then, and those log files are found alright: when I open one of them I can read the log.

But now the surprising thing: from there I can see all old XP log files, open and read them! So, they exist, are accesible and on the right place, but one way or the other a direct link (using Right-Click as I described above) is not possible for an older account...

What should I do to correct this?
