O.P. General Suggestion
I'm not sure how difficult this is to implement, but I know it's possible.
Many skins have custom buddy icons in the contact list, but most of them don't extend those icons to conversation windows or desktop contacts.
I don't know about others, but I would certainly like to see a more unified appearance of buddy icons across my screen.
