Use a patch to get rid of the banner period.
Messenger Plus! only hides the banner in memory, a patch actually removes the code from the exe.
I don't upgrade MSN Messenger unless there's an adpatch, even though Messenger Plus! does an excellent job of hiding the banner, but for me, I need to know it's really gone, lol.

Yes but if you do that you are violating the EULA
