O.P. Obsolete files?
I have Win98 SE, and the latest versions of MSN and Plus!.
A few uppdates before the Plus! 3.00 release (the massive update that came out last month) I noticed that occasionally I got an error when either booting windows or loading other programs. ie at no specific time - it was very random.
"the file ddeml.dll has been replaced
by an older version of the file"
After this error dialog box, the system resumed as normal.

I'm wanting to know whether Plus! uses OR installs a file named ddeml.dll..?
Thanks

RE: Obsolete files?
You can run System File Checker (sfc) to scan for any files that are now the ones preloaded with the O/S.

Click Start > Click Run > type sfc and click ok.

Here is a website about sfc on Windows 98
