Are you using any applications like Novell ZENworks or Novell Application Manager? Some similar products to these can erase all changes during a session of Windows. Usually you only need to worry about this in schools/work places.

nah i used to have the same problem with my home pc. the problem is gone now but i don't remember what i did to fix it... >.<
