No we don't actually need all this information
To do this you have to have
MSN Messenger 7.0 Beta and
Messenger Plus! 3.40 Beta for this to work.
First you need to enable custom names
Plus! > Preferences > Contact List > Custom Names
--> Check Both boxes if you like, but the first box has to be checked.
Now there are a few ways of doing the coloured name part.
You can do it from the Preferences Window that we have open now, or you can Right Click the Contact and Select Messenger Plus! Extras > Rename Contact
A Window will popup, if you hold CTRL and press the letter K a colour dialoge box will popup, you can select the colour and proceed with the name and add as many colours as you wish.
In the preferences window you can select your contact from the list below and type in their custom name at the bottom using the same key combination (CTRL+K)
[note]
In the Plus! Preferences under Contact List > General... the Checkbox that has no words beside it but has the following below it...
BETA NOTE: this option is currently in test. If you display problems in your contact list, please turn off.
That box has to be checked or else the colours will not show.
Note #2
Background colours will not show up on the contact list so there is no need to set them as Custom Names

Beta Software is currently being tested, meaning there may be huge bugs. The authors of this software are not liable for anything that happens to your PC or you from using this software.
