Thanks for your comments about Pitfighters. I understand the presumption that 'what you're seeing is what you're going to get', but it's far, far from that. The currently available EXE of Pitfighters is simply a game engine/MP communications test. Nothing in the EXE relates to Pitfighters. The 3D meshes, levels, particle effects, sounds and physics are simply there so that testers can do something (we didn't think anyone would be interested in being a null_object floating around in a black space
).
Hope I cleared that up, and I hope you might make a visit sometime to see how we are doing. To give you an estimate on time scale we are looking at around 6-8 months to completely finish the game, although we hope to have a useable version of Pitfighters available in a month or so. We are currently working on the main character model and main menu design.
Obviously anyone who gives a certain level of dedication to the testing of Pitfighters will be rewarded with creditation and possibly Moderator level access within the final game.
