Ive just downloaded MSN 7 BETA and then your Messenger Plus 3.4 BETA but i can't see the emotions.
I've checked all my settings and it all seems fine but the emotions are just coming up as ( 8 ) and :)
can you help please?

Go to MSN Messenger's main window. Tools/ Options/  Messages/

Make sure "Show emoticons" is checked.

Tochjo is right, if you can't see the emoticons in the names!

If you enabled the custom names feature then it's logical: due to a limitation in that feature emoticons won't show up then. This has to do with Messenger sorting the list by email addresses then, and as email addresses can't contain emoticons they won't be displayed.
