The new call feature on yahoo messenger is stupid and doesnt work for me. I'm an angry man, as it seemed like such a cool idea. Even though on msn you can have voice convos...the idea of calling (though the same) seemed so classy (hey i buy the idiotic marketing)

Does anyone have yahoo messenger beta?

I tried making a call to an american friend but they simply dont get my invite that i'm calling. They tried calling me and i get the invite but then i accept nothing happens. I hear no voices and they say it doesnt appear i accepted the call.

So whats going down?

I've tried using the american version. I've tried using the british version. I've tried using that silly wizard.

What is yahoo messenger beta's game? Is it simply because its beta and sucks? Or is it something stupid i have to do to make it work? Advice for this fiend like messenger would be appreciated.

why are you reporting it here?.. why not send yahoo the Feedback on it? help them fix it

because i was wondering if there was an easy cure to do it since its a major thing. i'm merely wondering if its something to do with my

- firewall
- network connection
- etc

im simply asking for ideas and if anyone has suffered the same.....

I have tried the new Yahoo Messenger, it worked for me, the other end wasn't behind a router, I was behind a WRT54G Linksys wireless router (I was connected wired, tho).  It had a good voice and has no lag at all.

It could be to do with your firewall, which probably needs to make a new rule. What firewall are you using? I have Yahoo, but do not make calls with it.
