O.P. Huh?  When my status is away, I click my friend to start a conversation...but
When my status is away by setting auto message short key.
I click my friend to start conversation, then msn sends the auto message that I have configured.
I have to make my status online before I click my friend.
I would not like to change my status to prevent sending auto message even though I started the conversation.
Auto message should be working with incoming messages only, shouldn't it?
Not every time, I click my friends.
Is there any solution to make this right?

No, the automessage will be send whether you or your friend sends the message. There is no solution for this, sorry. I don't know why it sends a message when you open the conversation window though..

You could just turn off automatic messages and use personalised status instead :)

Trini, what do you mean by that?
I thought personalized status includes the auto message function.

When you go to preferences-Personalised Status-Status Presets, you can delete there those auto-messages, also you can make your own statuses ;)

Well, what I ment was, you can make personalised status about where you did go or when you are going to be back, so there's no need for automatic message :)

You can disable the pesonalised message before you sent anything to your contact.  If you have an auto message set, when you open the conversation with your contact, to disable it go to Plus! in the message window, and click 'Disable Personalised Status.'  That will make the status stay the same for everyone else, but while you have that contact's window open the auto message won't show.

jmccarroll, thanks for attention.
but that's why I am asking a quiestion.
coz' I cannot be bothered to turn off or make my status onlie when I am in my personilized status with auto message on.
I will have to turn off auto message or make my status online first, before I click the conversation window or msn will send the auto message without my permission.
