ive noticed with the MSN spaces thing, the default settings (although they can be changed) are set as "messenger" - allowing only people in your allow list to view your space.
anyone else seeing an easy way of seeing if your on their allow list here?
i dont know if you can add this to Messenger Plus to check it as i know it would tkae a long time to explain something that is blatantly obvious to some of the stupid people of today!
Block checkers do not work.
A long time ago, there was a bug in the protocol that allowed these
block checkers to see what someone's real status was. If the status was
online, and the contact displayed as offline, then you would know that
you were blocked; it did not check if you were 'blocked', it merely
checked the status you had set.
Now there is an option to only allow people on your allow list to see
your status and send you messages. If this option is on, block checkers
will always detect that contact as being offline, even if he/she is in
fact online: simply because the block checker is not on your allow list.
When we say the bug has been fixed, we mean that block checkers could
get past that option a long time ago and still show your real status,
even if they were not on the allow list, but now that has been fixed,
they can't get past it anymore.
Everyone can easily verify this for themselves: check the box (it's on
the Privacy tab at the Options you can set in the menu Tools) and use
block checkers: make sure your status is set to online and enter your
own email address.
You will see it shows you as offline, though you know you are online

Read it. I have personally used my method just now and discovered that yes, i was being blocked - on asking someone else - i was right.
this is not using MSN directly. its using MSN spaces. obviously it wont work if you dont have an MSN space or you have it set to public viewing. but 9 times out of 10 it can be right.
I always know when someones blocking me, if they have a space, and i cant view it on "contact card" when i used to be able to, they have blocked me. (9/10 of course) But, still a good way. And before i get the reply "it is not good, it is not reliable" - I know. Still, quite reliable if you know for certain your contact has a space.
great idea not full proff but great also you could use W2M too but that wont work on a lot of people cuze no alot people have it, i never thaought of that was a block checking way.
