We all know Messenger Plus malware is optional, but when the auto update starts downloading updates, does it ask you before installing the optional program? I've got that thing installed on my computer after the auto update, without my knowledge. That was a long time ago. I really like what Messenger Plus do to your msn. Hoping the problem is solve by now so I can start using plus. So...is it solved? Or any other way I can prevent this problem from happening again?

The only thing that the auto-update function does is download and run the installer. This means that you will see the same installer as you would when you would manually download the updated program from the Messenger Plus! website. You therefore always have a choice if you would like to install the sponsor program

Adware. It doesn't do any harm to your PC, so it isn't malware.
