Apart from Nero Vision, are there any other good apps I can use to burn a few avi files onto a DVD (and design a menu on the dvd) so I can play it in my DVD player?

converts any video format into DVD compatible format, you can also drag multiple video files over to have more than one on the same dvd, it automatically creates a rather crap menu when you do this
