If any of you, as I'm sure many of you are , are gamers you might be aware of a Half-Life 2 mod in the making called Black Mesa Formerly Known As Black Mesa: Source. The peeps at valve contacted them saying the "source" tag is copyrighted and they had to get rid of it.

Do you see where I'm going lol? With MsgPlus! Live, the same could happen, because
a. we all know how much Microsoft are using the word LIVE O.o lately
b. we all know how much Microsoft loooooooove this addon soooo much *sarcasm*.

So I dunno if putting Live after MsgPlus! is just asking for trouble...any thoughts?

And yeh, I'm new to the forums heh. I'm Pat 8)

puting live at the end does not confilct with any copy rights for 2 reasons (that i can guess):
1, microsoft copyrighted "Windows Live Messenger" not "live" itself
2. "Windows live messenger" has Live in the middle, and "MsgPlus! Live" had it at the end

don't worry, patchou has checked it out

Also M$ don't mind Plus! anymore as they and patchou have had lots of meetings to disscuss it.

You cannot copyright a word. Microsoft do not own the word Live. However, you cannot use MSN, as it is a company name. If you get me.

And it's not the word "Live" they have copyrighted, they have copyrighted "Windows Live".

No, i think they trademarked it... other people could use it then...
Patchou has been invited to redmond... I dont think they will sue him of something for "Live"

The only way MS would sue him is if he'd start charging to use Plus!... which, is not going to happen
