hey,
i just can't change my nick, my personal message or my picture.
if i try to change my nick, it just keeps being my email adress.
if i try to change my personal message, it just does not, it still says "type in your...."
if i try to change my pic, only i am able to see it, not the others.
its been doing this for about one week now.
i reinstalled the messenger already, but it still doesn't work.
what to do now?
(my adress is a average hotmail adress)

Wow now lets take this one step at a time what messenger have you got what version?

Make sure the second option in the category Security is UN-checked.

And, do u use ZoneAlarm?

oh, sorry, i thought it would be obvious, which version i got, if i post in the live forum.
i use the latest version, messenger live.
i don't know what zone alarm is, but i guess not.
the second point is unchecked.

It's weird...
The Nickname problem could be that you haven't validated your e-mail address.. But it's a @hotmail.com so it can't be that...

And yes, ZoneAlarm is an antivirus program.

it is validated of course.
it's been validated for about one year now, i guess.
but i read something about nickchange interval:
"I've set the interval to 10 seconds in NickChange to avoid problems. If you make it 5 for example, you will get messageboxes about "your name cannot be changed"

as far as i can remember, something like "your name cannot be changed" was there...

maybe...?

or is that only for scripts? cause i read it under "scripts"

That's a script... Doesn't has anything to do if you're change your Nick from the standard WLM place... tbh I don't know what's wrong.
