All the features from MSN 8 are in WLM, so its not like you're losing out, if you don't like the new features, don't use them.

No it's not, Messenger Plus! Live has replaced Messenger Plus! for WLM, and you can still get the last version of Messenger Plus! so you can use it on MSN Messenger 7.5.
