I'm using Live Messenger (8.0.0812.00) with Plus! Live (4.01.0.240), on Win XP SP2.
I've set Messenger to show me as Away after idling for 5 minutes but... it doesn't show me as away (confirmed by both myself and friends who've tried to IM when I'm not at the PC).
Any ideas why this could happen?
I remember that the earlier versions of Plus! for MSN Messenger had a separate setting for this, but it seems that's gone and only Live Messenger has the setting now.
Does that affect my status as well though? It seems that only affects the status of those on my contact list.
It's my idle status that's the issue, if you see what I mean. I never switch to idle (I didn't post this in the Plus! forum in case it wasn't a Plus! issue).

"I've set Messenger to show me as Away after idling for 5 minutes" - Messenger sets your status to idle after 5 minutes when you check that option. This is seen as "away" for un-patched/non-plus users.
I had the problem with an earlier version of Messenger, and a normal wired mouse. Thankfully at the time Plus! had its own away system which seemed to solve it. But that's gone now it seems

My problem is that after that 5 minutes my Messenger doesn't switch to Idle. Hence people think I'm here and ignoring them, if you see what I mean.
Try locking the computer (Winkey+L) - this should switch your status to idle instantly...
