O.P. Dodgy laptop
I have 2 problems with my laptop, so here goes.

1.  My wireless is being weird. I have to disable or exit my firewall for my wireless to connect properly. The main annoyance though, is that the wireless speed keeps dropping to 1.0Mbps every few minutes. It doesn't disconnect (i.e. show the big red X icon in the system tray) but it renders online games, downloading and general internet surfing useless for a few seconds. It's really a problem when playing online games and downloading via bit torrent as I will disconnect from trackers/servers.
What is going on?

2.  My graphics card is fucked. If I don't have the external power supply plugged into my laptop, the VPU will crash every so often leaving me with a crappy laptop display. Only way to reset the display is to restart the laptop. The other important problem is that this will happen when I run a MS Office app (Word, Powerpoint, etc.) I have tried different versions of Office but it still happens
I have changed my graphics drivers but it made no difference. Whats going on?

1. Get a new wireless card, or try a differnt firewall.

2. Get a new graphics card.

If you give us the model numbers etc, it would help us help you....

Bit hard to get new components for a laptop, it'd be easier to fix the current ones.

Personally, I'd say there's something wrong with the drivers for both. try reinstalling them.

It'd probably be helpful if you mentioned what Firewall you are using. Also for the graphics card try to download the latest drivers.

Too hard and expensive to change it.

I'm using Sygate Personal Firewall.
About the drivers, the graphics card ones are weird. I have an ATi Radeon Mobility X700. Whenever I run the official ATi drivers, I get an error and it won't install. I have to use Omega Drivers instead, and it is up-to-date.
I'll try update my wireless drivers and see if it helps.

[Edit]
Updated the wireless card drivers and they have seem to fix the problem. Just need to sort out the graphics card.

Try taking out your firewall and using windows defult fire wall (you may need to update) and if it works you will know its your firewall that you are using. If not contact you isp for help.

He could find out if it is the firewall by not using a firewall at all, Windows Firewall won't protect you anyway.
