Sounds like an issue with Windows Live Messenger not Messenger Plus! Live.

This is going to have to be answered by Patchou, there is no error code 8005 listed in the installer itself . There is 8002-8004, 8006-8008.

Error code numbers mostly depend on the kind of application and/or programming language. Error code 8005 in one program isn't the same error 8005 in the other. The list you showed is for specific APIs.

are you running, by any chance, a modified version of Messenger? Or are you running any other addons/patches?
I see you have some patch program in that folder, and an ini file, which both don't belong originally to Messenger.

Also, and this is far fetched, but try to run the Plus! installer from its original file name, not a renamed one...

Other than all this, Patchou himself is indeed the one who needs to answer this I assume (Matty is correct, no 8005 error code in the setup -hardcoded that is-).

Error 8005 can indeed be thrown by the setup of Messenger Plus!. However it should never happen in normal circusmtances. Please, if you have a 800x error with the setup, send me an email at mplus@patchou.com and we'll check what's going wrong together.
