O.P. Uninstalling scripts....
Hi
I'm not sure if there's already a thread for Uninstalling scripts.. if there is, I'm sorry. But I couldn't find one...
Anyway, I'd just like to know how to uninstall a script that I've downloaded from
http://www.msgpluslive.net/scripts/ ... Help?
Thanks,

Erm, go onto plus! > preferences > general > scripts.
Select the ones you wanna remove, and then press 'remove' at the bottom of the window
OR
C:/program files/messenger plus! live > find the scripts folder and delete the ones you dont want

The best is to remove by the Plus! preferences!!!
Sorry for asking, but I always disable the script (untick and click Apply) before I remove it... Is this better, safer or the same thing as removing directly (without disable)???

Thats allways a better way, because then it's there if you ever change your mind..

RE: Uninstalling scripts....
Yes there are ome scripts that I don't want ALL the time, so I only disable than (than Plus! don't waste time loading too many scripts)

It's exactly the same since Plus! will always automatically disable the script first before it is removed.
Bad and thus absolute wrong way to remove a script
Find the folder of the script on your hard disk and delete the files in it.
Reason: This wont even work when Messenger is running. It also will always leave stuff behind in the registry. And it may even break other scripts!
Proper way to remove a script:
- Plus! > Preferences > General > Scripts > select script > Remove
- If Plus! says it can't remove all files:
- First disable the script in the Plus! preferences and press 'ok'
- Close all Messenger instances completely (right click system tray icon and choose Exit)
- Navigate to the installation folder of the script in Windows Explorer
- If you see DLL or OCX files in the directory (also check subdirectories!) you first need to unregister them like so:
- Windows Start Button > Run > Regsvr32 /u "c:\full_path_to_script\dll_or_ocx_file"
- When regsvr32 reports back it couldn't unregister the file because the file was in use, then you need to find and close the program which uses the file first (make sure you closed every instance of Messenger)
- When regsvr32 reports back it couldn't unregister the file because the file can't be (un)registered, then it is ok since the file wouldn't have been registered in the first place.
- Go back to point 1 and start over from there. Follow all steps again!
If, after a second try it still doesn't work, then proceed to point F.
- Remove the directory and all its subdirectories
- If you're up to it and you completely want to remove all traces of the script, check if there are any registry keys left in:
HKCU\Software\Patchou\Messenger Plus! Live\GlobalSettings\Scripts\script name.
