¿With Google I was wondering, for your website to appear in the search engine does someone have to submit it or can Google submit the link themselves?

Google do not accept people's requests to be listed; they have robots that crawl the internet, following links in pages until the entire internet is indexed. Simply fill your site with useful keywords and get your site linked on other sites, and then wait until Google indexes your site.

Btw, do that thing on google Dempsey posted... takes a little while, but its worth it. The page one on google after you search my name is all about me haha
