I've noticed when trying to install programs, from the windows site.. such as windows media player 11 etc... I get this error

"Windows could not load the installer for Net. contact your hardware vendor for assistance"

that's all it says no error number  nothing, any ideas how to fix this.

You mean .NET Framework?

I can't see how WMP11 would specifically need .NET, but meh, with M$ anything's possible...

try repairing windows or something, other than that I can't think of much else.

Not really, because depending, the windows installation itself after it has been installed could cause problems, although installing the .Net framework could be the answer, from what I read, it isn't always the case.
